Where auto clips let you down

The usual ways auto clipping wastes your evening or your money, and what ClipOn does about each.

  1. You pay for clips you delete

Previews are free. A clip costs 1 credit only when you press Keep, and a final render that fails gives the credit back.

  2. Clips start mid-sentence or cut the punchline

Cuts snap to full sentences. The end stretches through the laugh or the pause that follows, so the joke lands. Not happy with a cut? Trim it word by word in the transcript.

  3. Captions that break your language

Captions come from the video's own YouTube captions, timed word by word. Fix a typo and its timing stays put.

  4. The crop follows the wrong person

Framing follows whoever is talking. Pin one speaker, split the screen for two people, or letterbox the whole frame. You can change it clip by clip.

See why a clip was picked

Every pick comes with its reason, so you review in minutes: keep it, discard it, or trim the cut yourself. The cut keeps the setup, the payoff and the laugh after it.

Why this clip

Framing that follows the talk

A vertical clip crops a wide frame, so the crop has to follow the conversation. Try each layout on a two-person recording and see what the vertical clip gets.

Captions timed to every word

Today the words come from the video's own YouTube captions, timed word by word. A wrong word is fixed in the editor and its timing stays where it was.

Pick a preset once and save it to your brand kit.

You pay for the clips you keep

Credits are the only thing you buy, and one credit keeps one clip. Everything before that is a free preview.

Questions about paying and keeping clips

What do I pay for?

One credit for each clip you keep. Every pick first renders as a free, watermarked preview, and discarding is free. Previews are free within a monthly allowance of videos.

What happens to the clips I don't keep?

Nothing is charged. A discarded clip stays in the project and you can restore it for free. Projects and kept clips are never deleted if you stop buying credits.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits never expire.

Which videos work?

YouTube links that have captions, between 5 and 90 minutes long. A video without captions can't be processed.

Can I edit a clip?

Yes. Pick the start and end by selecting words in the transcript, fix caption words, change the caption style and the framing, then render again. Re-rendering a kept clip is free, up to 10 final renders per clip.

  • Posting one clip at a time

Download every kept clip in one ZIP, named in order. Scheduling is coming. Until then, paste each post's link and ClipOn tracks its views.

  • Already know your moments?

Bring your own. Paste timestamps, like the list a chat assistant gave you or the markers from your stream, and ClipOn cuts each one on sentence boundaries with captions and framing.

A clear setup, a payoff two lines later, and the laugh stays in the cut.

    Where are my clips stored?

In ClipOn's cloud storage, in your project, where you can play them and download them one by one or as a single ZIP. The source video we download to cut from is deleted about a week after every clip is ready or discarded, and after 30 days at the latest.
